It’s that time of the year again with San Diego Comic Fest this coming weekend I was able to talk to Matt Dunford one of the organizers of the show and was able to once again do a wonderful interview with him about this years show.
A pretty small week for new comics this week, with mostly returning series and a few new ones. As always make sure that you support you’re local comic shop and I get mine at Pulp Fiction Comics Long Beach CA and they have a great Facebook Group Page that has a great active community.
Every once in a while there is a comic or graphic novel that comes along and is one of those that you can call seminal work and Barry Windsor-Smith’s Monsters from Fantagraphics Books.
Another big week for new comic books with the continued wave of Future State comics from DC Comics continues. While that has dominated the last few weeks there were two new Marvel series that start and a nice showing of independent books that round out the week.
I’m back! So the good news is that I’m covering this weeks new comic books, the bad news is that I still haven’t caught up with the ones from a few weeks back that I’m still working on so please be patient with me on that one.
Yes I know that I’m behind and had started to write the previous two weeks reviews but, was so far behind and this was a light week that I decided to do this week first and hopefully in a few days get the others done.
Wonder Woman #759 DC Comics Writer Mariko Tamaki, Artist Mikel Janin, Colorist Jordie Bellaire, Letterer Pat Brosseau It’s pretty rare that I get an early copy of a comic to review but I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of Wonder Woman #759 with the new creative team of Tamaki and Janin and was excited to see what they would bring to the book because it’s sadly been staggering along from the Greg Rucka run in the beginning (IMHO).
Welcome back to our third week in a row that is a new current record for reviews. Just wanted to give a shout out to my local comic book store where I get my comics at Pulp Fiction Comics Long Beach is a great local shop and they do mail order also.
