New Comic Book Reviews Week of 4/23/14
It’s been a whirlwind of a week with WonderCon Anaheim last weekend and getting sick and busy week at the old 9 to 5 job I’m lucky that I had time to even read this weeks new books.

Scott Denbier took the stage Saturday evening to show us all of the new IDW Artist Editions that are going to kill our wallets soon and in the future.
Day 1 of the 3 day WonderCon invaded Anaheim today and was very busy for the first day. I spent most of the day on the show floor seeing all of the dealers and hooking up with friends.
Here is the first of hopefully many to come of reviews of graphic novels and collections that would make fine additions to your bookshelf.
Well this week there are some real disappointments with some of the new books that started this week. But there were some surprises too so lets see how everything fairs this week.
Boy it seems like every week there are so many new number one books that hit the shelves and then get farther behind on catching up.
I was inspired to write todays story from a post over on The Beat (this is a great blog run by Heidi MacDonald) about the passing of pioneering comic book retailer Gary Edson Arlington.
There were quite a few books this week. Unfortunately a busy week at the regular 9 to 5 gig cut into reading and reviewing more.
Well I am finally back to getting new post up on the site. The holidays and family and friends visiting pushed back post to today.
This is the next to last week for new comics released in 2013 and there are some new mixed in with some returning books.
